Each program has its own crack

We continue our journey to discover the techniques used by pirates to unlock the functions of paid programs. In the first part of our investigation, we saw how pirates bypass the system date check to infinitely extend the trial versions of commercial software. This is just one of the methods used to illegally use programs. As we will see now, with the right tools and a little practice, pirates, even beginners, can crack commercial software by directly modifying the executable. In other cases, however, they configure the firewall of Windows Vista and Windows 7 in such a way as to prevent the EXE files of the programs from performing the online license check. In any case, we reiterate it, to avoid breaking the law and infecting your PC with some viruses present in pirated software, it is better to use only regularly purchased or free programs.

With the homemade crack, no software is pirate-proof

The pirate gets a debugger like OllyDbg and proceeds to install the software he intends to crack. Started OllyDbg with administrator privileges, the pirate searches for the location of the link that starts the program, then waits for it to be loaded into the system.

The pirate proceeds with the filtering of the software strings and, scrolling the window, identifies the one with the text registration, activation or license and then opens the relative instructions with a double click of the mouse. Then find the one who is in charge of verifying the license.

In this string the pirate replaces JNZ with JMP and reassembles the software code, saving the changes from the context menu that appears. It then closes the debug window to make changes to the original executable. Crack is nice and served!
So the pirates use the Windows 7 firewall

As we have seen, hackers exploit bugs, security holes and reverse engineer commercial software to create so-called "cracks", which are then released on the underground channels of the Network. Most of the time they create a new program executable after having eliminated the registration routine from the original one; other times they extrapolate the algorithm to compile a keygen that allows them to generate serials accepted by the program as valid.

In short, the struggle between software houses and pirates is always on; so much so that the former undertake to introduce increasingly sophisticated anti-piracy systems, such as hardware protection keys and authenticity checks on remote servers. In particular, the latter are performed when the software is started and in the presence of Internet connectivity. Many applications integrate license checking into the software update process; in this way, when the user checks the availability of new versions, the authenticity of the program installed on the computer is compulsorily checked. The pirates, after applying the crack to the software, block the authenticity checks in the Windows XP hosts file by redirecting the link to the site for product activation to the localhost of their PC (which for all is 127.0.0.1).
With Windows Vista and Windows 7 this system does not work and they have to resort to the firewall (also the one integrated into the operating system) by creating a rule that blocks the EXE files of commercial software. This is how they manage to do their wrongdoing. In short, ironically… a legal tool like the Windows firewall, in the wrong hands becomes a hacking tool.
Software resources, between legal and illegal

It is easy to get hold of pirated software, but also to look for a legal alternative. Remember, however, that viruses and spyware are never lacking on pirate sites!

LEGALE

The largest open source software database in existence. There is everything and many of the software offered have nothing to envy to expensive commercial programs.

What apparently looks like a normal search engine, is actually a valuable resource for users looking for cracks and keygens to use for the illegal activation of commercial software

DOWNLOAD ZONE : http://downloadzoneforum.net
Used by pirates to source mostly games and movies, the forum pages boast a rich collection of software illegally distributed by exploiting the speed of file hosting services.
